Deputy Minister for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Yurii Hrymchak has said that the United Nations food mission is discontinuing its work in Ukraine.

Hrymchak was speaking on the Kanal 5 television channel, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The UN food mission is ending its work in Ukraine. There is less money, and they are leaving," the deputy minister said.

Hrymchak noted that the mission stated that about 1.5 million people in the non-government-controlled areas of Donbas have difficulty accessing food.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft agreement with the United Nations World Food Program to open an office in Ukraine in October 2015.
