Number Of Coronavirus-Infected People In Kyiv City Up 385 To 30,848 On October 18, Number Of Deaths Up 5 To 587 – Klitschko

On October 18, the number of coronavirus-infected people in the city of Kyiv rose by 385 over October 17 to 30,848, and the number of deaths rose by five to 587.

Kyiv City Mayor / Chairperson of the Kyiv City State Administration, Vitali Klitschko, announced this at a briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In particular, on October 18, the number of coronavirus-infected people included 189 women aged 18-96; 17 girls aged 5-17; 169 men aged 18-85; and 10 boys aged 2-17.

Besides, the overall number of newly-infected people included 13 medical workers.

On October 18, a total of 65 persons were hospitalized in the capital's hospitals, the rest are being treated at home under the supervision of doctors.

A total of 13 residents of the city of Kyiv recovered on October 18.

Since the start of the epidemic, the number has made 10,709.

The largest number of cases was registered in Desnianskyi district – 88, Pecherskyi district – 58, and Dniprovskyi district - 54.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 17, the number of coronavirus-infected people in the city of Kyiv rose by 453 over October 16 to 30,463, and the number of deaths rose by 13 to 582.

On October 18, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine increased by 4,766 over October 17 to 303,638, and the number of deaths rose by 66 over October 17 to 5,673; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 8.9%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 26.7%.

According to the report, as at the morning of October 19, there were 303,638 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 5,673 lethal cases; besides, 126,489 people had recovered.

During the day, 4,766 new cases of the disease were recorded, 1,112 people recovered, 66 people died.

Therefore, on October 18, the indicator of newly-infected people was higher than the number of those, who recovered (4,766 vs 1,112).

As at the morning of October 19, the number of the active sick (less those, who have recovered and died) was 171,476, up 2.1% day over day.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (30,848), Kharkiv region (29,113), and Lviv region (25,103).
