924 Coronavirus-Infected People Hospitalized On October 21 – Health Ministry

On October 21, 924 coronavirus-infected people were hospitalized in Ukraine.

Health Minister, Maksym Stepanov, has said this at a briefing, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Among the 7,053 people with confirmed coronavirus infection on October 21, 306 are children and 354 medical workers.

In total, since the beginning of the epidemic, 19,452 children and 20,528 medical workers have fallen ill.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 20, 1,009 coronavirus-infected people were hospitalized in Ukraine.

On October 21, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine increased by 7,053 over October 20 to 322,879, and the number of deaths rose by 116 over October 20 to 6,043; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 5%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 17.7%.

According to the report, as at the morning of October 22, there were 322,879 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 6,043 lethal cases; besides, 134,898 people had recovered.

During the day, 7,053 new cases of the disease were recorded, 2,679 people recovered, 116 people died.

Therefore, on October 21, the indicator of newly-infected people was higher than the number of those, who recovered (7,053 vs 2,679).

As at the morning of October 22, the number of the active sick (less those, who have recovered and died) was 181,938, up 2.4% day over day.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (32,500), Kharkiv region (30,899), and Lviv region (26,021).
