Trade volume on PFTS up 17% to UAH 43.8 billion in October

In October 2023, the total volume of trades on the PFTS amounted to UAH 43.8 billion (117% of the level of September 2023) or 74% of the total volume of trades of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.

This follows from a statement by the exchange, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

In the first ten months of 2023, the total volume of trades on the PFTS amounted to UAH 256.5 billion (372% of the level of the same period in 2022 or 284% of the level of 2022), which is equal to 63% of the total volume of trades of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.

In the structure of trades for October, the share of government bonds was 94.9% (UAH 41.6 billion), corporate bonds - 4.6% (UAH 2 billion), and bonds of a foreign state - 0.5% (UAH 0.2 billion).

12% of deals were concluded on the "bid market," 78% of deals on the "quotation market" (including address deals), and 10% of deals in repo and repo with risk control.

In October 2023, forty bidders on the PFTS entered into agreements with 43 issues of securities (domestic government loan bonds - 36, foreign government loan bonds - 1, corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 5, bonds of a foreign state - 1).

In the first ten months of 2023, 48 bidders concluded agreements with 98 issues of securities (domestic government loan bonds - 61, foreign government loan bonds - 3, shares of foreign issuers - 1, shares of Ukrainian issuers - 7, corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 14, bonds of a foreign state - 12).

Among the 36 issues of domestic government loan bonds with which agreements were concluded in October, four issues - with maturity dates in 2023 (UAH 2.6 billion), 17 issues - with maturity dates in 2024 (UAH 18.3 billion), eight issues - with maturity dates in 2025 (UAH 10.7 billion), five issues - with maturity dates in 2026 (UAH 5.8 billion) and two issues - with maturity dates in 2027 (UAH 4.1 billion).

From July 26, 2022, trading of domestic government loan bonds denominated in a foreign currency, in the nominal currency, began on the PFTS.

In October 2023, the volume of exchange contracts with domestic government loan bonds executed in the nominal currency amounted to USD 272.4 million and EUR 4.4 million (23% of the total trading volume).

The PFTS Stock Exchange is one of the largest organizers of securities trading in Ukraine.

As of November 1, 2023, the number of members of the PFTS Stock Exchange admitted to trading was 51: 30 banks and 21 financial companies.

A total of 344 issues of securities were admitted to trading on the PFTS Stock Exchange, of which 116 securities issues were in the Exchange Register.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in September 2023, the total volume of trades on the PFTS amounted to UAH 37.4 billion (153% of the level of August 2023) or 69% of the total volume of trades of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.

The PFTS index has been the official index of Ukraine in S&P Emerging Markets since 1997.
