Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 4.8% To 12,630, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 3.2% To 260 On December 17 – NSDC

On December 17, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 12,630 over December 16 to 944,381, and the number of deaths increased by 260 over December 16 to 16,256; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 4.8%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 3.2%.

The National Security and Defense Council has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as at the morning of December 18, there were 944,381 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 16,256 lethal cases; besides, 561,222 people had recovered.

On December 17, a total of 12,630 new cases of the disease were recorded, 260 people died, and 12,866 people recovered.

Therefore, as at December 17, the indicator of newly-infected people was lower than the number of those, who recovered (12,630 vs 12,866).

The number of the active sick (only those sick) as at the morning of December 18, made 366,903 people, down 0.14% day over day.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (98,330), Kharkiv region (64,237), and Odesa region (61,963).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 55,860 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 51,588; Dnipropetrovsk region– 51,401 cases, Zaporizhia region – 45,715, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 41,644, Rivne region – 37,840, Chernivtsi region – 37,695, Sumy region - 37,157, Khmelnytskyi region – 36,027, Zhytomyr region – 35,662, Cherkasy region – 33,837, and Ternopil region – 32,089.

A total of 31,449 cases have been registered in Donetsk region, 31,097 cases – in Poltava region, 29,817 cases – in Volyn region, 26,855 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 26,409 cases - in Chernihiv region, 25,826 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 20,578 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 15,151 cases – in Kherson region, 8,533 cases – in Luhansk region, and 7,621 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 16, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 12,047 over December 15 to 931,751, and the number of deaths increased by 252 over December 15 to 15,996; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 13.4%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased 4.5%.

On December 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 10,622 over December 14 to 919,704, and the number of deaths increased by 264 over December 14 to 15,744; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 26.2%, and the number of new lethal cases rose 13.3%.
