Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 3.5% To 8,199, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 2.5% To 166 On January 14

On January 14, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 8,199 over January 12 to 1,146,963, and the number of deaths increased by 166 over January 12 to 20,542; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 3.5%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 2.5%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as at the morning of January 15, there were 1,146,963 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 20,542 lethal cases; besides, 847,391 people had recovered.

On January 14, a total of 8,199 new cases of the disease were recorded, 166 people died, and 10,328 people recovered.

Therefore, as at January 14, the indicator of newly-infected people was higher than the number of those, who recovered (10,328 vs 8,199).

As at the morning of January 15, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 281,325, down 0.8% over January 14.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (121,082), Odesa region (77,752), and Kharkiv region (74,150).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 66,573 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 65,262; Dnipropetrovsk region – 63,442 cases, Zaporizhia region – 60,749, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 44,929, Sumy region – 43,839, Rivne region – 43,700, Cherkasy region - 43,172, Chernivtsi region – 42,439, Zhytomyr region – 42,254, Khmelnytskyi region – 42,016, and Donetsk region – 40,952.

A total of 40,448 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 35,852 cases – in Ternopil region, 35,718 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 34,883 cases - in Volyn region, 32,176 cases – in Chernihiv region, 29,484 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 24,494 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 19,570 cases – in Kherson region, 12,783 – in Luhansk region, and 9,244 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 13, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 7,925 over January 12 to 1,138,764, and the number of deaths increased by 162 over January 12 to 20,376; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 23.7%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 16.9%.

On January 12, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,409 over January 11 to 1,130,839, and the number of deaths increased by 195 over January 11 to 20,214; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 25.3%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 6%.
