Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Down 4.2% To 5,348, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 32.4% To 163 On January 21

On January 21, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 5,348 over January 20 to 1,182,969, and the number of deaths increased by 163 over January 20 to 21,662; at the same time, the number of new cases fell by 4.2%, and the number of new lethal cases fell by 32.4%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as at the morning of January 22, there were 1,182,969 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 21,662 lethal cases; besides, 928,969 people had recovered.

On January 21, a total of 5,348 new cases of the disease were recorded, 163 people died, and 14,239 people recovered.

Therefore, as at January 21, the indicator of those, who recovered was higher than the number of newly-infected people (14,239 vs 5,348).

As at the morning of January 22, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 232,338, down 3.8% over January 21.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (125,342), Odesa region (79,743), and Kharkiv region (75,970).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 68,594 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 67,262; Dnipropetrovsk region – 65,624 cases, Zaporizhia region – 63,623, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 46,039, Sumy region – 44,932, Rivne region – 44,729, Cherkasy region - 44,687, Chernivtsi region – 43,800, Zhytomyr region – 43,186, Khmelnytskyi region – 42,935, and Donetsk region – 42,745.

A total of 41,980 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 37,452 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 36,645 cases - in Ternopil region, 35,856 cases - in Volyn region, 32,981 cases – in Chernihiv region, 30,302 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 25,599 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 20,057 cases – in Kherson region, 13,373 – in Luhansk region, and 9,513 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 20, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 5,583 over January 19 to 1,177,621, and the number of deaths increased by 241 over January 19 to 21,499; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 27.4%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 13.7%.

On January 19, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 4,383 over January 18 to 1,172,038, and the number of deaths increased by 212 over January 18 to 21,258; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 11.3%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 19.8%.
