NBU Cuts Foreign Currency Acquisition By 23% To USD 20 Million July 5-9

In the period of July 5-9, the National Bank of Ukraine acquired USD 20 million on the interbank foreign currency market.

The NBU has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The NBU acquired USD 20 million using the Matching mechanism.

Since the start of the year, the central bank has acquired USD 853.5 million and sold USD 169.5 million at a uniform rate.

Using the Matching mechanism, the NBU has acquired USD 139.8 million.

In 2020, the National Bank bought USD 4,929 million in the interbank foreign exchange market and sold USD 3,891 million.

Using the Matching functionality, USD 478.5 million was purchased in 2020, and USD 802 million was sold.

During the foreign exchange auctions, USD 270.1 million was sold, while the currency was not bought at the auctions.

At a single rate, USD 4,450.5 million was purchased, and USD 2,818.9 million was sold.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2018, the NBU bought USD 3,173.78 million in the interbank market and sold USD 1,801.82 million.

In 2019, the National Bank bought USD 8,462.6 million in the interbank foreign exchange market and sold USD 529.23 million.
