Farmers harvest 51 million tons of grain

As of January 12, agricultural enterprises had harvested 50.965 million tons of grain and leguminous crops from an area of 10.9 million hectares (94%) with a yield of 47 tons per hectare.

This follows from a statement by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

In particular, 20.2 million tons of wheat were threshed from 4.979 million hectares (100%) with a yield of 40.5 tons per hectare; 5.8 million tons of barley were threshed from 1.7 million hectares (100%) with a yield of 34.7 tons per hectare; 269,000 tons of peas were threshed from 118,000 hectares (100%) with a yield of 22.8 tons per hectare; 23.5 million tons of corn were threshed from 3.6 million hectares (85%) with a yield of 65.7 tons per hectare; 158,500 tons of buckwheat was threshed from 116,000 hectares (98%) with a yield of 13.7 tons per hectare; 101,800 tons of millet were threshed from 44,700 hectares (99%) with a yield of 22.8 tons per hectare.

In addition, sunflower harvesting was carried out on an area of 4.8 million hectares (99%), 10.5 million tons of seeds were threshed with a yield of 21.7 tons per hectare;

Soy was harvested from an area of 1.5 million hectares (100%), 3.7 million tons were threshed with a yield of 24.3 tons per hectare;

Rapeseed was harvested on an area of 1.1 million hectares (100%), 3.2 million tons of seeds were threshed with a yield of 28.6 tons per hectare;

Sugar beets were dug up on an area of 180,000 hectares (99%), 9 million tons of sweet roots were dug up with a yield of 501 tons per hectare.

It is noted that the agrarians of the Mykolayiv Region, Odesa Region, Bukovyna, and Vinnytsia Region have finished harvesting this year's harvest of all agricultural crops.

At the same time, the highest yield of grain and leguminous crops among the farmers of Khmelnytskyi Region is 70.8 tons per hectare.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club association notes that the abnormally warm weather at the beginning of the new year did not significantly affect the condition of winter crops.

In 2021, farmers harvested 106 million tons of grain, leguminous and oil crops, which is the largest indicator in the entire history of independent Ukraine.

More than 84 million tons of cereals and legumes were harvested, 22.6 million tons of oil-bearing crops.
