Head of the Office of the President Andrii Yermak held a briefing for the U.S. delegation led by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, who arrived on a visit to Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the President.

It is noted that the briefing was devoted to the confrontation of Ukraine with a full-scale invasion of Russia. Yermak informed American partners, in particular, about the main events taking place in Ukraine and around its borders due to the aggression of the Russian Federation. He also thanked the United States for supporting Ukraine.

"Ukrainians will never forget the help and support that the United States, the American people, the government, the President and Congress give us," Yermak said.

In addition, the head of the President's Office noted the importance of Wendy Sherman's visit to Ukraine, during which she will receive information about the situation in Ukraine directly from the scene.

During the briefing, representatives of the Ukrainian intelligence and the commanders of the operational forces informed the American delegation about the current situation at the front and the needs of the units of the Defense Forces.

It is reported that reports were heard on the work of air defense to repel Russian missile attacks and the consequences of missile attacks during the New Year holidays, as well as on January 14. Separately, the participants considered the issue of restoring damaged energy facilities and the measures taken to protect them from enemy air attacks.

The participants discussed cooperation with international partners to support the restoration of Ukrainian energy, which is supervised by Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt.

"We are committed to openness and transparency of all information, because now we feel that when we are together in this fight, the United States with us is very important and brings victory closer. But, undoubtedly, we strive to win this victory without losing our people, our cities and infrastructure," the head of the Office of the President summed up.

The briefing was also attended by: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Ukraine Brigitte Brink, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Andrii Sybiha, Chairman of the Board of PrJSC National Energy Company Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, representatives of the military command.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Pentagon expects that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive Bradley infantry fighting vehicles in a few weeks.

Earlier, the United States allocated a new USD 3 billion military aid package to Ukraine.
