Mobilization law to come into force in a month. What will change for persons liable for military service on May 18

In a month, on May 18, the law on mobilization comes into force.

This is stated in the text of the law, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

On April 17, the law on mobilization was published in the Holos Ukrainy (Voice of Ukraine).

According to the text of the law, it enters into force in one month from the day following the day of its publication.

Accordingly, the law on mobilization will enter into force on May 18.

Certain provisions shall enter into force eight months from the day following the publication of the law, in particular the norms for submitting to territorial recruitment centers information about registered vehicles and water vehicles that may be intended to complement the Armed Forces and other military formations in a special period.

The mobilization law provides for:

• the opportunity for territorial recruitment centers through the court to ban those who evade mobilization from driving vehicles;
• non-provision of consular services to men abroad without military accounting documents;
• men from 18 to 60 years were obliged to always carry a military accounting document;
• citizens of Ukraine, who are on military records, are obliged within 60 days from the date of the law coming into force to clarify the address of residence, numbers of communication means, e-mail addresses (if any) and other personal data;
• introduction of an electronic office of a conscript (person liable for military service), but it is not mandatory;
• cancellation of deferral for recipients of re-education.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 11, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill on mobilization.

On April 16, the law on mobilization was submitted for signature to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who signed it on the same day.
