London Court To Hear Privatbank's Case Against Kolomoiskyi On February 27

PrivatBank, Ihor Kolomoiskyi, Hennadii Boholiubov, High Court of London

The High Court of London will hold a hearing in a case that the nationalized Privatbank filed against its former owners Ihor Kolomoiskyi and Hennadii Boholiubov on Tuesday, February 27.

This is stated on the agenda of the court, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The court session is scheduled to begin at 10:30, local time.

The High Court of London decided on January 19 to extend the freezing of the assets of Kolomoiskyi and Boholiubov worth more than USD 2.5 billion.

The court held additional hearings on procedural issues involving Privatbank's lawsuit against Kolomoiskyi, Boholiubov, and others.

The court's decision on worldwide seizure of assets, which was made in December 2017, was extended until the next relevant court decision.

At the same time, the court ordered Kolomoiskyi and Boholiubov to disclose information about all their assets to a limited number of persons directly involved in the case.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the High Court of England and Wales decided in December 2017 to freeze assets worth USD 2.5 billion belonging to former Privatbank owners Kolomoiskyi and Boholiubov.

The decision to freeze the assets was based on detailed evidence provided to the court, which proved that Kolomoiskyi and Boholiubov performed a number of illegal transactions, through which almost USD 2 billion was transferred from the bank to companies they secretly owned or controlled by.

Privatbank aims to recover funds totaling more than USD 2.5 billion, including interest, through this lawsuit.
