Total State Debt Up 3.6% To USD 124.3 Billion In April

The aggregate state (direct and guaranteed) debt of Ukraine in April increased by 3.64% or USD 4.37 billion to USD 124.28 billion compared to the previous month.

This is stated in the data of the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

State and state-guaranteed debt at the end of April amounted to UAH 4,544.87 billion, or USD 124.28 billion, against UAH 4,384.99 billion, or USD 119.91 billion, a month earlier.

The total amount of direct state debt as of the reporting date was UAH 4,208.3 billion (USD 115.08 billion) against UAH 4,045.16 billion (USD 110.62 billion) a month earlier.

At the same time, direct external debt for the month increased from USD 71.11 billion to USD 75.79 billion.

Direct domestic debt decreased in hryvnia equivalent from UAH 1,444.75 billion to UAH 1,436.72 billion (in dollar equivalent decreased from USD 39.51 billion to USD 39.29 billion).

The state-guaranteed debt at the end of the reporting month amounted to UAH 336.57 billion, or USD 9.20 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2022, the total state debt increased by USD 13.39 billion or 13.66% to USD 111.34 billion.

In 2021, the state debt increased by 8.52% or USD 7.69 billion to USD 97.95 billion.

In 2020, the total national debt increased by 6.9% from USD 84.4 billion to USD 90.3 billion.
