Population’s deposits with banks up 0.6% to UAH 968.2 billion in July

In July, according to the latest data, the amount of funds deposited by individuals in hryvnias and foreign currency with banks increased by 0.6% to UAH 968.190 billion.

This follows from a statement by the National Bank, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In the year to date, the funds deposited by individuals on accounts of commercial banks have risen by 4.5% from UAH 926.488 billion.

In July, the hryvnia deposits with commercial banks rose by 1.1% to UAH 640.444 billion.

In July, the foreign currency deposits of the population in the hryvnia equivalent decreased by 0.4% to UAH 327.747 billion.

In July, deposits of legal entities with Ukrainian commercial banks (both in the hryvnia and foreign currency) increased by 3.7% to UAH 1,141.978 billion.

The average interest rate on hryvnia deposits (average monthly) in July for legal entities increased by 0.2 p.p. to 14.3%, and for individuals it rose by 0.8 p.p. to 12.7%.

The rate on foreign currency deposits for legal entities made 0.7%, and 1.1% for the population.

As the Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in June, the amount of funds deposited by individuals in hryvnias and foreign currency with banks increased by 2.6% to UAH 963.795 billion.

In 2022, population’s deposits with banks increased by 29.3% from UAH 719.418 billion.

In 2021, population’s deposits with banks increased by 6.8% from UAH 674.718 billion to UAH 720.932 billion.

In 2020, population’s deposits with banks increased by 24.5% from UAH 542.302 billion.
