MPs continue mobilization and martial law until May 13

The Verkhovna Rada extended the period of martial law and general mobilization from February 14 for 90 days, i.e. until May 13.

A total of 335 MPs voted for bill 10456 with the minimum required of 226, and 323 voted for bill 10457, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Bill 10456 provides for the approval of Presidential Decree No. 49 of February 5 "On extending the period of martial law in Ukraine", according to which the period of martial law is extended from 5:30 a.m. on February 14, 2023 for 90 days.

Bill 10457 provides for the approval of Presidential Decree No. 50 of February 5 "On extending the period of general mobilization", according to which the period of general mobilization is extended from February 14 for 90 days.

In the explanatory note to both bills, it is emphasized that their adoption will contribute to the adoption of adequate measures aimed at repelling russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 8, 2023, the Verkhovna Rada extended the period of martial law and general mobilization from November 16 for 90 days, i.e. until February 13, 2024.

On February 24, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada approved the introduction of martial law by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in connection with the start of the war by russia and the announcement and conduct of general mobilization.
