Ukraine, European Commission Sign Agreement On Financing Cross-Border Cooperation Programs For 2014-2020 Worth EUR 365 Million

On December 19, in Brussels Ukraine and the European Commission signed an agreement on financing joint operational cross-border cooperation programs for 2014-2020 worth over EUR 365 million.

The press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The total budget allocated by the European Union for four programs makes over EUR 365 million.

First Vice Prime Minister / Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv signed the agreement for Ukraine.

Within the European neighborhood instrument the agreement addresses the following operational cross-border cooperation programs: "Ukraine - Romania", "Ukraine - Hungary - Slovakia - Romania", "Ukraine - Poland - Belarus", and " Black Sea Basin 2014-2020."

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine intends to sign an agreement with the European Union on financing a cross-border cooperation program "Black Sea Basin 2014-2020."

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine intended to conclude an agreement with the European Commission on financing of the "Ukraine-Romania 2014-2020" cross-border cooperation program.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has canceled his plan to visit Brussels on December 19 to attend the third meeting of the Ukraine-EU Association Council.
