Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 39.2% To 8,404, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 1.3% To 379 On May 6

On May 6, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 8,404 over May 5 to 2,105,428, and the number of deaths increased by 379 over May 5 to 45,830; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 39.2%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 1.3%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of May 7, a total of 2,105,428 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 45,830 fatal cases; 1,731,162 people had recovered.

On May 6, a total of 8,404 new disease cases were recorded, 379 people died, and 19,453 people recovered.

Therefore, as of May 6, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (8,404 vs 19,453).

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (197,968), Kharkiv region (139,398), and Odesa region (135,610).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 130,836 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 124,662; Kyiv region – 119,980 cases, Zaporizhia region – 97,738, Zhytomyr region – 85,153, Khmelnytskyi region – 84,918, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 84,341, Donetsk region - 82,565, Chernivtsi region – 77,682, Cherkasy region – 76,674, Sumy region – 73,911, and Poltava region – 73,296.

A total of 73,017 cases have been registered in Rivne region, 68,591 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 67,015 cases - in Ternopil region, 64,376 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 60,376 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 58,241 cases – in Volyn region, 54,104 cases – in Chernihiv region, 31,938 – in Kherson region, 24,220 – in Luhansk region, and 18,818 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 5, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,038 over May 4 to 2,097,024, and the number of deaths increased by 374 over May 4 to 45,451; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 2.3 times, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.3 times.

On May 4, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,576 over May 3 to 2,090,986, and the number of deaths increased by 161 over May 3 to 45,077; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 4.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 3%.
