AFU repel most enemy attacks on Mariyinka Axis – General Staff

Over the past day, the Ukrainian military had 60 combat encounters with the enemy, and most of the attacks were repulsed on the Mariyinka Axis.

This follows from a statement by the command of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

During the past day, 60 combat clashes took place. In total, the enemy launched eight missile, conducted 15 airstrikes, and used 61 MLRS rockets at positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

In the area of responsibility of the North Operational and Strategic Troops Group on the Siversk and Slobozhanskyi Axes, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active diversionary activities in order to prevent the transfer of the AFU to threatening axes, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group on the Kupiyansk and Lyman Axes, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions and continued to regroup troops.

On the Bakhmut Axis, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to restore the lost position near Andriyivka, where the defenders repelled five enemy attacks. The AFU of Ukraine continue their assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk Region, inflicting losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment and entrenching themselves at the achieved boundaries.

In the zone of responsibility of the Tavria Operational and Strategic Troops Group on the Avdiyivka Axis, the occupiers do not stop trying to surround Avdiyivka, but our soldiers firmly hold the defense, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. The offensive actions of the enemy were unsuccessful in the areas of Stepove, Avdiyivka, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk Region, where the AFU repelled 15 enemy attacks.

- On the Marinka Axis, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Mariyinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk Region. Here, Ukrainian soldiers repelled more than 20 enemy attacks.

- On the Shakhtarsk Axis, the defenders repelled all enemy attacks near Vodiane, Zolota Nyva, and Staromayorske, Donetsk Region.

- On the Zaporizhzhia Axis, the enemy tried to restore the lost position northwest of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia Region, but was unsuccessful.

At the same time, the AFU of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation on the Melitopol Axis, inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying troops, and exhaust the enemy along the entire front line.

In the zone of responsibility of the Odesa Operational and Strategic Troops Group on the Kherson Axis, Ukrainian soldiers are conducting a counter-battery fight, inflicting fire damage on the enemy's rear.

During the day, the aviation of the AFU made five strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment and four more on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems. The units of the missile forces hit four areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, eight artillery pieces, two ammunition depots, a TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower MLRS, and three means of enemy air defense.
