Ukraine reduces grain exports by 16% to 20.6 million tons since early MY2023/2024

The actual volume of grain exports by Ukraine since the beginning of the 2023/2024 marketing year (July 2023 - June 2024) as of January 15 had made 20.563 million tons, down 16% or 3.9 million tons year over year.

This follows from a statement by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

A total of 8,186,000 tons of wheat, 1,215,000 tons of barley, 1,000 tons of rye, and 11,014,000 tons of corn have already been exported.

At the same time, during the specified period, the export of wheat flour and flour from other crops decreased by 17%, or by 12,300 tons, to 61,400 tons.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, almost 15 million tons of cargo was exported over 5 months along the Ukrainian sea corridor.

On September 21, the Resilient Africa bulk carrier arrived at the Turkish Bosphorus Strait.

It was the first ship with grain from Ukraine that passed through the Black Sea along the temporary corridor.

On July 17, russia announced the withdrawal of shipping safety guarantees in the Black Sea to ensure the "grain corridor."

Ukraine exported 49 million tons of grain in the 2022/2023 marketing year, which is 1.3% more than in the 2021/2022 marketing year.
