Defense Ministry Requesting Additional UAH 100 Million For Ammunition Disposal And Fire-Explosion Safety At Ammunition Depots For 2018

The Ministry of Defense requests including extra UAH 100 million to finance ammunition disposal and fire and explosion safety at ammunition depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine into the draft state budget for 2018 thus, increasing the overall financing of the ministry to UAH 434.2 million.

Ukrainian News agency learnt this from a reply by the ministry to respective request of the Agency.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 26 at about 10 p.m., a fire occurred in the territory of ammunition depots of the Ministry of Defense near the population center of Kalynivka (Vinnytsia region).

Over 34,000 tons of ammunition was destroyed.

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko has accused Finance Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk of untimely allocation of funds for strengthening of guarding the Ministry of Defense's ammunition depot in Vinnytsia region.
