Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 45.5% To 6,237, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 10.9% To 163 On February 17

On February 17, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,237 over February 16 to 1,287,141, and the number of deaths increased by 163 over February 16 to 24,852; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 45.5%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 10.9%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of February 18, a total of 1,287,141 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 24,852 fatal cases; 1,134,120 people had recovered.

On February 17, 6,237 new disease cases were recorded, 163 people died, and 5,225 people recovered.

As of the morning of February 18, the overall number of those staying ill with the Covid-19 (without the recovered and died) made 128,169, up 0.7% over February 17.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (133,347), Odesa region (83,885), and Kharkiv region (81,116).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 75,069 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 72,455; Dnipropetrovsk region – 70,897cases, Zaporizhia region – 68,373, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 57,299, Chernivtsi region – 49,963, Rivne region – 47,662, Cherkasy region - 47,597, Zhytomyr region – 47,400, Sumy region – 47,323, Khmelnytskyi region – 46,132, and Donetsk region – 46,930.

A total of 44,995 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 40,579 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 40,005 cases - in Ternopil region, 38,522 cases - in Volyn region, 36,102 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 34,942 cases – in Chernihiv region, 31,194 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 21,375 cases – in Kherson region, 14,631 – in Luhansk region, and 10,227 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 16, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 4,286 over February 15 to 1,280,904, and the number of deaths increased by 147 over February 15 to 24,689; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 36.4%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 2%.

On February 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,143 over February 14 to 1,276,618, and the number of deaths increased by 150 over February 14 to 24,542; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 34.8%, and the number of new lethal cases increased 2.4 times.
