Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 30.4% To 13,276, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 69.3% To 430 On April 5

On April 5, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 13,276 over April 4 to 1,769,164, and the number of deaths increased by 430 over April 4 to 35,017; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 30.4%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 69.3%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of April 6, a total of 1,769,164 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 35,017 fatal cases; 1,362,379 people had recovered.

On March 23, a total of 13,276 new disease cases were recorded, 430 people died, and 10,240 people recovered.

Therefore, as of April 5, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (13,276 vs. 10,240).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of April 6 was 371,768, up 0.7% over April 5.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (169,100), Odesa region (115,171), and Kharkiv region (111,108).

Besides, Kharkiv region has registered a total of 110,809 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 101,119; Dnipropetrovsk region – 97,697 cases, Zaporizhia region – 81,754, Zhytomyr region – 74,952, Chernivtsi region – 72,031, Khmelnytskyi region – 69,268, Donetsk region - 62,736, Sumy region – 61,972, Cherkasy region – 61,115, and Rivne region – 60,799.

A total of 60,453 cases have been registered in Vinnytsia region, 58,453 cases – in Poltava region, 57,661 cases - in Ternopil region, 56,319 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 54,220 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 48,915 cases – in Volyn region, 44,706 cases – in Chernihiv region, 25,495 – in Kherson region, 18,418 – in Luhansk region, and 14,053 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 4, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 10,179 over April 3 to 1,755,888, and the number of deaths increased by 254 over April 3 to 34,587; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 25.9%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 1.6%.

On April 3, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 13,738 over April 2 to 1,745,709, and the number of deaths increased by 258 over April 2 to 34,333; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 32.5%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 34.8%.
