UAH 7.8 Billion Transferred To NBU Special Account To Support Army

As of March 4, UAH 7.8 billion was transferred to the special account of the National Bank to support the army.

The NBU has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The funds were received both from citizens and enterprises in Ukraine and from the international community (including from the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, China, France, Canada).

In particular, more than UAH 765 million in equivalent was received from abroad in foreign currency (US dollars, euros, pounds, Canadian dollars, Chinese renminbi, Japanese yen, Swiss francs, Polish zlotys, Australian dollars).

Of these funds, the National Bank has already transferred more than UAH 5.4 billion for the needs of the military, in particular:

- for the needs of the National Guard - UAH 450 million (02/26/2022);

- for the needs of the National Police - UAH 850 million (02/28/2022 - UAH 150 million; 03/03/2022 - UAH 700 million);

- for the needs of the Ministry of Defense - UAH 3,701.6 million (02/28/2022 - UAH 182.3 million; 03/01/2022 - UAH 675 million; 03/01/2022 - UAH 168 million; 03/02/2022 - UAH 1,999.3 million; 03/04/2022 - UAH 677 million);

- for the needs of the State Border Guard Service - UAH 420 million (03/03/2022).

Currently, the balance on the special account is UAH 2.4 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Bank opened a special multi-currency account to help the Ukrainian army.
