Number Of Killed Children Up 2 To 215 Since Start Of Russia's Invasion Of Ukraine

The number of killed children has risen by 2 to 215 and injured by 2 to 391 since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The Prosecutor General's Office has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"As of the morning of April 25, 2022, 606 children suffered in Ukraine as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to official data, 215 children were killed and 391 injured," the statement says.

Children suffered the most in Donetsk region - 124, Kyiv region - 114, Kharkiv region - 93, Chernihiv region - 66, Kherson region - 44, Mykolaiv region - 43, Luhansk region - 37, Zaporizhzhia region - 27, Sumy region - 17, the city of Kyiv - 16, Zhytomyr region - 15.

On April 24, as a result of shelling by the Russian troops of the village of Krasnohorivka in Donetsk region 2 girls aged 5 and 14 were killed.

On April 23-24, the occupiers once again shelled Kharkiv region, in Chuhuiv, an 11-year-old boy was injured as a result of the shelling.

On April 23, a 12-year-old child was injured due to shelling in the village of Turove, Bohodukhivskyi district, Kharkiv region.

It is also indicated that due to the bombing and shelling of Ukrainian cities and villages by the Russian military, 1,500 educational institutions were damaged, 102 of them were completely destroyed.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported, on April 11, Ukraine and Lithuania agreed to cooperate in the field of protecting children affected by the war in Ukraine.

On March 19, the occupiers illegally took to Russia 2,389 children who were in the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
