ICU Сlaims Medvedchuk's Accusations against ICU Founder Paseniuk are False

In response to Medvedchuk’s accusations, ICU company wants to make it clear that the statements of Ukrainian Parliament member Viktor Medvedchuk regarding Makar Paseniuk are false.

This rebuttal was reported to Ukrainian News Agency by ICU.

"Makar Paseniuk had nothing to do with the events of Viktor Medvedchuk's story. Makar Paseniuk worked on one deal for Petro Poroshenko during his presidency, which was a joint mandate with Rothschild & Co for the sale of Roshen followed by the transfer of Roshen to the management of the Rothschild Trust in 2016. Paseniuk's participation in structuring this agreement was within his role as an investment banker in the normal course of business," the company reported.

ICU specifies that speculation regarding some kind of inextricable connection between Paseniuk and Poroshenko gained popularity in 2015-2019. ICU contends that these accusations are part of a targeted smear campaign, and they are false.

Makar Paseniuk denied and continues to deny the existence of such a connection and any related informational manipulation.

"The agreement with Poroshenko concerning Roshen has always been public knowledge and was within the normal course of business for ICU. The mention of Mr. Paseniuk in connection to any other agreements associated with Mr. Poroshenko during his presidency is meant to cast aspersions on Paseniuk’s reputation as part of a targeted smear campaign," the ICU concluded.

As Ukrainian News Agency previously reported, Medvedchuk testified against Poroshenko.

Medvedchuk stated that founder of ICU Makar Paseniuk, ex-member of the Rada from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc Ihor Kononenko, ex-head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Hrytsak, ex-head of the NBU Valeriia Hontareva, and ex-minister of the energy and coal industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn are accomplices in the crimes of the former president Petro Poroshenko.
