Cabinet Extends Ban On Import Into Ukraine Of Russian Goods From Approved List Until 2024

The Cabinet of Ministers has extended the ban on the import into Ukraine of Russian goods from the approved list until December 31, 2023.

This is stated in government decree No. 1448 of December 27, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The Cabinet of Ministers amended its decision dated December 30, 2015 No. 1147 "On the prohibition of the import of goods from Russia into the customs territory," according to which its effect was extended until December 31, 2023 (inclusive).

The list of Russian goods prohibited for import into the customs territory of Ukraine includes: meat of cattle, poultry and pork (fresh, chilled or frozen), meat and edible meat offal, salted or in brine, fish and crustaceans, dairy products, cheeses, coffee, tea, food mixtures, confectionery and bakery products, baby food products, pasta, sauces, flavors and condiments, beer, alcohol, vodka, cat and dog food, cigarettes with filter, skin detergents, insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, rodenticides, railway and tramway equipment, diesel-electric locomotives, etc.

The government also extended the ban until December 31, 2023 (including) on the import into the customs territory of Ukraine in the customs mode of import and customs mode of temporary import with conditional partial exemption from taxation by customs payments of wagons, which from February 20, 2014 were registered/accounted (had been registered/ accounted) for residents of the Russian Federation.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers during a government meeting on December 30 approved a decision to end 30 years of diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation in the field of water relations.

In January 2016, a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on the prohibition of the import of a list of Russian goods into Ukraine came into force.
