Finance Ministry Fulfills State Budget Borrowing Plan For 54.7%, Attracts UAH 160.1 Billion In January

In January 2023, the Ministry of Finance fulfilled the plan for borrowing to the state budget for 54.7% and raised UAH 160.1 billion.

That follows from a statement by the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Actual government borrowing to the general fund of the state budget for January 2023 amounted to UAH 160.1 billion, or 54.7% of the planned for this period.

UAH 41.4 billion was raised from the placement of domestic government loan bonds to finance the state budget, including UAH 2.6 billion (USD 40.2 million and EUR 29.4 million) in foreign currency.

From external sources, UAH 118.7 billion (EUR 3.0 billion) of EU macro-financial assistance proceeds were attracted in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine and the EU of January 16, 2023.

At the same time, payments for the repayment of public debt for January 2023 amounted to UAH 12.8 billion (98.2% of plan), maintenance payments - UAH 0.6 billion (27.2% of plan).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Finance fulfilled the plan for borrowing to the state budget for 67.3% and attracted UAH 1,261.1 billion in 2022.
