The Ministry of Defense has approved new operational procedures for tactical aviation based on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) standards.

This follows from a statement by the Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The corresponding Order 147, dated August 5, contains instructions, explanations, and interpretations developed by the Main Directorate of State Aviation of Ukraine, which will help to safely operate tactical aviation aircraft of domestic and Western models.

The Ministry of Defense notes that a specially created working group in the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is already engaged in the implementation of new standards.

The Main Directorate of State Aviation plans to develop four more sets of such procedures for other types of aviation, including unmanned aerial vehicles.

"Our tactical aviation has new flight procedures in accordance with NATO standards, which will strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces. We are moving forward and doing everything possible to ensure that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have an advantage on the battlefield," First Deputy Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in April, the Ministry of Defense engaged NATO experts for an internal audit.

In March, the Minister of Defense Rustem Umierov approved the action plan of the Ministry of Defense for the implementation of the adapted Annual National Program of Cooperation with NATO for 2024, which, in particular, provides for the strengthening of civilian control over the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the improvement of the unified leadership of the state's defense forces and planning in the field of security and defense of Ukraine.
