British intelligence reports that the russian invaders have advanced in the northeastern part of the Kharkiv Region and want to reach the eastern bank of the Oskil River.

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom.

"In the Ukrainian north-eastern region of Kharkiv, Russian forces have advanced westwards from Pishchane village. They now occupy a small salient 3.5km from the Oskil river. It is likely that Russian forces aim to reach the eastern bank of the Oskil river to use as a natural defensive barrier and set conditions for future operations," the message reads.

At the same time, the agency notes, the main goal of russian troops remains Pokrovsk in the east of Ukraine. It is claimed that the aggressor state russia has with a high probability captured the towns of Hrodivka, east of Pokrovsk, and Ukrainsk, south of the city.

"Russian forces remain approximately 8km from Pokrovsk. Ukrainian reinforcements, urban areas, and Ukrainian defences structures have likely contributed to slowing Russia's advance on the axis in the past week," British intelligence added.

Meanwhile, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, September 22, 162 combat clashes took place at the front, the largest number of attacks were recorded on the Pokrovsk (35 clashes) and Kurakhove (28 clashes) axes.
