Ukraine’s authorities officially confirm operation in Kursk Oblast and inform which territory is under AFU control

Volodymyr Zelenskyy held another meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, during which it was confirmed for the first time that the operation in the Kursk Oblast is being carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was also noted that the Ukrainian army currently controls about 1,000 square kilometers of territory.

The video with fragments of the speeches was published in the official Telegram channel of the President of Ukraine.

The most important thing was the report of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi regarding Ukraine’s defensive actions at the front and operations in the Kursk Oblast.

"We are continuing the offensive operation on the territory of the Kursk Oblast, currently under our control is about a thousand square kilometers of the territory of the Russian Federation," Syrskyi reported.

Recall that during today's meeting with the participation of dictator vladimir putin, the head of the Kursk Oblast announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine took control of 28 settlements in the region.

According to acting governor of the Kursk Oblast, Aleksey Smirnov, during the week of fighting, the Ukrainian military occupied 480 square kilometers of the territory of the region.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 11, russian propagandist Yuriy Podoliaka stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly occupied another settlement in the Kursk Oblast. According to him, fighting is going on near another village.

We should add that, according to Forbes, the Ukrainian military in the Kursk Oblast began preparing defense structures, which indicates the long-term plans of the command.
