DPR And LPR Collecting Signatures For Participation In 'Elections' While Telling Locals Signatures Required For Receiving Humanitarian Aid

The intelligence of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine reports that so-called authorities of the Donetsk's People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic are collecting signatures of locals for participation in elections while telling people that their signatures are required for registration for receiving humanitarian aid.

The press service of the Chief Intelligence Department of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The intelligence also reports that chiefs of the DPR and LPR cancelled wide celebrations marking the Day of Russia on June 12 to avoid unpredictable developments on the occupied territories.

"In order to justify embezzlement of money previously allocated for the celebrations the so-called 'local authorities' organized collection of signatures of the population for participation in the future elections under the guise of mass registration for receiving humanitarian aid," the Chief Intelligence Department reports.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin says no elections are possible in Donbas before introduction of armed police mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
