Ukraine To Step Up Cybersecurity Cooperation With U.S.

Ukraine intends to step up cybersecurity cooperation with the United States.

The Ukrainian embassy in the United States announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Today's statement by the White House, which clearly indicates that the Russian military targeted the NotPetya cyber attack against Ukraine in June last year, and the warning by U.S. intelligence agencies that Russian cyber attacks against our country will increase, which were made public during hearings at a U.S. Senate intelligence committee meeting on February 13, require coordinated interaction between Ukraine and the United States in the area of cybersecurity," the statement said.

According to the statement, Ukraine is stepping up practical cybersecurity cooperation with the United States in response to these challenges.

Cyber dialogue with the State Department began in September 2017; active work is being done with the U.S. Congress; cooperation with American academic and business experts on cybersecurity is developing. In particular, a cybersecurity partnership with the University of G. Washington has been launched.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the United States House of Representatives has approved enhanced cooperation with Ukraine in the area of cybersecurity.
