Monetary Base Up 2% To UAH 863.8 Billion In March

In March, the monetary base, which includes cash in circulation outside banks, as well as banks' reserve money and other money, increased by 2% to UAH 863.753 billion, according to the latest data from the National Bank.

This is evidenced by the NBU data, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Since the beginning of the year, the monetary base has grown by 9% from UAH 792.537 billion.

The money supply in March increased by 1.6% to UAH 2,559.355 billion, and since the beginning of the year it has grown by 2.3% from UAH 2,501.621 billion.

The volume of cash in circulation, according to the latest NBU data, in March increased by 0.2% to UAH 630.453 billion, and since the beginning of the year it has fallen by 5.3% from UAH 666.073 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, over 2022, the monetary base grew by 19.6% from UAH 662.499 billion.

In 2021, the monetary base grew by 11.2% from UAH 595.993 billion to UAH 662.499 billion.

In 2021, the money supply increased by 12% from UAH 1,850.014 billion to UAH 2,072.399 billion.

In 2020, the monetary base increased by 24.8% from UAH 477.491 billion to UAH 595.993 billion.

In 2020, the money supply increased by 28.7% from UAH 1,438.311 billion to UAH 1,850.471 billion.
