Macron names conditions for putin's participation in G-20 leaders meeting

French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed the possibility of russian leader vladimir putin's participation in the G-20 leaders' meeting in November in Brazil, provided that such participation would be "useful". At the same time, he emphasized that the dictator's invitation should be supported by all members of the G20.

During a joint press conference with the French President in Brazil, where the G-20 meeting will take place, the country's President Lula da Silva said that he intends to send an invitation to putin.

At the same time, he did not rule out that putin could be arrested in Brazil.

"I am not the one who decides this, it is for the court to decide, and the President (of Brazil - ed.) does not evaluate the court's decision. He implements them or not... If he (putin - ed.) comes, he knows what will happen," Lula da Silva said.

Macron categorically stated that the invitation of the russian dictator to the G20 summit should be a matter of consensus in the club.

"The importance of this club is that it must agree with the other 19, and this will be the work of Brazilian diplomacy," Macron said.

If the meeting could be "useful, we should do it," but "if it creates division, no doubt," it shouldn't happen, he added.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported, earlier putin reacted to the breakthrough of the russian border by volunteers.
