After the loss of some positions in the Chasiv Yar direction (Donetsk Region), checks and transfers of soldiers who were the backbone of the unit began in the 67th separate mechanized brigade Volunteer Ukrainian Corps.

This is reported by the Ukrainian Pravda publication with reference to its own sources in the management of the direction in which the 67th worked, to the comment of a former soldier of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps, as well as to the official statement of the 67th separate mechanized brigade of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps.

"We inform you that the higher command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has started the process of transferring to other military units all the commanders and soldiers of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps of the Right Sector, who formed the brigade and are its combat backbone. We do not know the motives of such actions. All attempts to stop this process and find out the reasons have not yielded results.

Perhaps someone believes that dispersing the fighters of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps of the Right Sector in different units of the Armed Forces will lead to the destruction of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps of the Right Sector. Currently, numerous commissions are working in the brigade," the brigade's statement reads.

According to the publication, in the management of the direction where the 67th worked until recently, the military leadership at various levels was interested in why such a motivated unit as the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps was "sinking" in the direction of Chasiv Yar.

It is noted that one of the reasons that the inspection revealed were problems within the brigade itself. The management from among the key people of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps allegedly separated from the servicemen from the Right Sector those who, in particular, transferred to them from other units during the recent replenishment (they were called "pixels"). The attitude towards the "pixel" was allegedly worse, they were the first to be sent into battle and due to lack of experience, they lost positions.

Also, the publication's source added that it was probably not the only cause of the brigade's combat capability problems that the inspection revealed.

At the same time, one of the former Volunteer Ukrainian Corps fighters, who served in the unit during the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and the first year of the full-scale invasion, told journalists that the root of the current problem lies in the impossibility of reformatting the former volunteer unit into a regular brigade of the Armed Forces.

He noted that after the reformation of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps into the 67th brigade, the volunteers had to live "according to army patterns", in particular, obey the decisions of the newly appointed army command. After all, the former heads of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps did not have military ranks that would allow them to occupy managerial positions.

The former Volunteer Ukrainian Corps fighter added that during the time of the former Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps backbone, in particular Andrii Stempitskyi, managed to maintain a certain autonomy in the brigade and have the support of the General Staff.

"And when (Oleksandr) Syrskyi was appointed, they (the backbone of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps) were faced with the fact: you should perform only those functions that correspond to your position. They regarded it as political persecution. For the ideological fighters of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps, it looks like the destruction of the movement, and in fact, it is simply normalization by the system of one's combat unit," the interlocutor told the journalists of the publication.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the higher russian military leadership had set the task for its troops to capture Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk Region by May 9.
