The former co-owner of PrivatBank, Hennadii Boholiubov, who recently went abroad, said that he does not know whether he will return to Ukraine after the State Bureau of Investigation served him in absentia with the suspicion of illegal border crossing on June 24.

He said this in an interview with the Ukrainian Pravda publication, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"When I went, I went for two weeks, maybe three. I have a small child there, I have a lot of things to do. I was going to go back, but now I don't know. I'm thinking today," he said.

Boholiubov also stated that he does not plan to apply for political asylum abroad.

"I never thought of asking for any political asylum in any country in the world...I had plans to go to my mother and return home," he added.

In addition, the former co-owner of PrivatBank said that he has not yet decided in which country he will live.

"I don't know where I will live. I haven't decided yet. I think that the decision will be formed (depending) on how events develop,” the businessman said.

Boholiubov claims that he crossed the border of Ukraine to leave on legal grounds.

According to Boholhiubov's press service, the businessman has all the legal grounds for crossing the border: he is 62 years old, has 7 children, 5 of whom are minors.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, law enforcement officers served the former co-owner of PrivatBank, Hennadii Boholiubov, and the border guard, who helped him illegally cross the border on June 24, with the suspicion in absentia. According to the State Bureau of Investigation, Boholiubov left the country using another person's passport. This is Mykola Kupriyanovych Siumak, 67, a resident of the Volyn Region.
