There were 600 patients and the same number of employees in Okhmatdyt at time of russian attack - hospital’s director general

As a result of the russian attack on July 8, one building of the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital was completely destroyed, and another six were damaged.

The director general of the Kyiv Children's Hospital Okhmatdyt, Volodymyr Zhovnir, told about this on the air of the telethon.

"At the moment, experts are working to assess the existing losses. The block where hemodialysis was carried out was completely destroyed, six more buildings were damaged to varying degrees. The old surgical building is currently in a state of emergency. We are also conducting an expert assessment of the construction work that is required and the lost property - medical equipment," he said.

Zhovnir added that the restoration of the hospital's infrastructure is currently underway. According to him, they have already restored the supply of electricity, medical gases - oxygen and compressed air, made water supply, and closed almost all the windows of the hospital with chipboard and plastic wrap.

The director general of Okhmatdyt noted that as of 10 a.m., UAH 359 million had been collected to restore the hospital. According to him, this amount is constantly increasing.

It will be recalled that a boy, who was in critical condition at the time of the russian attack on Okhmatdyt, died.
