NATO Command for Coordination of Support to Ukraine will start work in Germany in September - Stoltenberg

NATO, Jens Stoltenberg

The NATO Command for Coordination of Support to Ukraine will start work in Germany from September.

This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Reuters writes.

He reminded that NATO countries agreed to create a command to coordinate and provide security assistance and training for Ukraine.

"This command will start work in September, it will have 700 people in Germany ... and it will provide support and help in ensuring the security of Ukraine and coordinate the efforts of NATO allies," he said.

We will remind, Patrick Turner was appointed as the senior representative of NATO in Ukraine. Turner will begin his duties in Kyiv in September 2024.

He will "act as a coordinator of NATO's interaction with the Ukrainian authorities in Kyiv", as well as "coordinate NATO's efforts and provide the Alliance with assessments and advice on the situation in Ukraine."

Meanwhile, NATO will invite Ukraine to the Alliance when all allies agree and Kyiv fulfills all the necessary conditions.
