Mass failures in operation of computer systems recorded in Ukraine - Special Communications Service

On the morning of July 19, a number of organizations in Ukraine and around the world faced the problem of starting computers running on the Microsoft Windows operating system and using the CrowdStrike Falcon software.

This is stated in the message of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection (State Special Communications Service) in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

At the same time, it is noted that the organizations of Ukraine, which were affected by the mentioned problem, have already fully or partially resumed their work.

Specialists of the State Special Communications Service recommend using the CrowdStrike instructions for a quick solution to this problem:

boot Windows in safe mode or Windows recovery environment;

go to the directory C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike;

find the file named "C-00000291*.sys" and delete it;

restart your computer or server.

The State Special Communications Service recommends using the specified method while CrowdStrike works on eliminating the problem and does not provide official information.

The State Special Communications Service also notes that they are ready to provide advisory and practical assistance in solving the problem.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the State Special Communications Service advises not to use a public Wi-Fi network, as fraudsters can intercept data.
