On July 24, the head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) Viktor Pavlushchyk appointed Serhii Hupiak as his deputy.

The NACP has informed about this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Prior to his appointment to the National Agency, Serhii Hupiak worked as the head of the fourth investigative department of the territorial administration of the State Bureau of Investigation, located in Khmelnytskyi, and later managed this department.

Since 2008, he worked in the prosecutor's office, working his way up from an investigator to the head of the prosecutor's office of the Vinnytsia Region.

In 2022-2023, he was a candidate for the position of the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NACB), becoming one of the three winners of the competition.

He took part in this year's competition for the position of the NACP head, where he also reached the finals.

He graduated from the National Law Academy of Ukraine named after Yaroslav Mudryi, later - with honors graduated from the National Academy of Prosecution of Ukraine.

"We are currently distinguishing in the activities of the NACP the areas of formation and implementation of anti-corruption policy, as well as deepening the expertise of the Agency's specialists in specific areas, primarily those most affected by corruption. Serhii Hupiak will be responsible for the implementation of already developed anti-corruption policies and measures. Strengthening the direction of expert strategic analysis of corruption risks for the identification and elimination of corruption schemes in all the main spheres of the country's functioning is among the priorities of the NACP, because the implementation of the State Anti-corruption Program and, first of all, the quality of life of Ukrainians depends on the work experience of Serhii Hupiak, his managerial qualities and vision of the National Agency's priorities during the competition for the position of the head of the National Agency, will help him to effectively develop these areas of work and strengthen the institution," said the Chairman of the NACP Viktor Pavlushchyk.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Artem Sytnyk, the deputy head of the NACP, resigned in June.
