Dnipro police detain suspects in murder of head of local motor carriers trade union

Dnipro police detained two men on suspicion of murdering 32-year-old public activist and head of the local trade union of motor carriers Mykhailo Tonkonohyi.

This was reported by the press service of the department.

The investigators established that on July 22, the persons involved agreed to meet with the victim. A conflict arose between them, as a result of which two men shot a social activist with six gunshots. After the crime, the killers threw the weapon into a reservoir, and the body of the deceased was buried in a forest strip.

"The attackers shot the victim six times. The man died from the gunshot wounds. After that, they took the body away and buried it, and the deceased's car was hidden in a previously rented garage," the police report said.

As previously reported, on July 23, the police received a report about the disappearance of a 32-year-old man who left home in a Škoda Octavia car. The very next day, the police established that the man had become a victim of a crime. His body with gunshot wounds was found in a forest strip near one of the Dnipro horticultural societies.
