Russia published a video showing a new drone that was shot down on the night of July 24 and was not immediately identified. It is called Gerbera, has a foam fuselage and can be made in three versions.

This is reported by the military portal Defense Express.

Thus, it is indicated that the russian unit "Stalin's Falcons" distributed a video with a new drone that has a fuselage made of foam plastic and assembled "with a rather low culture of production." This unit is closely related to Alabuga, where Shahed UAVs are manufactured.

"And in view of how and from what the russian Gerbera is already assembled, it is obviously that the Iranian drone remains the unattainable top of technology for Alabuga employees," the publication emphasizes.

From the video it became known that the name of the new UAV is Gerbera. It is stated that it can be produced in three variants: an electronic reconnaissance drone, a kamikaze, or a false target.

Defense Express has analyzed that, given what is known about the downed sample, it was not the strike version that was intercepted. It is noted that this version uses a TV channel with a rather mediocre camera for targeting. In this way, guidance on the terminal area is carried out by the operator manually, like an FPV drone.

"That is, the accuracy depends on the skill of the operator. And the video shows exactly how the operator made a mistake. And the fact that the video with this take was published already directly says that the number of Gerbera the enemy currently has is limited," the publication's review says.

It is emphasized that what is interesting is that the drone has a camera while Shahed attacks the memorized coordinate point. This, in particular, may imply that the flight range of a drone with a warhead is quite small and is within the range of direct radio communication - that is, within a few tens of kilometers and up to hundreds of kilometers if a repeater is used.

At the same time, the first downed Gerbera was equipped with a 4G modem, which allows in certain areas to have a high-speed communication channel for video transmission.

The publication adds that the flight range is in question. It is likely that it can be measured within 300 km without a warhead.

"That is, intelligence tasks, in particular, recording the operation of radar systems with the transmission of information online, again through the Ukrainian mobile network, for this UAV is possible. As well as using it as a false target, which has a relatively low cost," Defense Express summarizes.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, during the russian attack on the night of Saturday, July 20, the Air Force reported the downing of a drone of an unknown type. The media found out that this UAV attacked Kyiv, and also showed photos of its wreckage.
