In Kyiv, the incidence of coronavirus has increased significantly in recent weeks, and the number of hospitalizations due to COVID-19 has also increased.

The Kyiv City State Administration announced this with reference to Valentyna Hinzburh, director of the Department of Health of the Administration, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"If, as of July 1, there were twenty patients with a diagnosis of COVID-19 and one with suspicion in the capital's medical institutions, then as of this morning there are 73 such patients. Moreover, on average, about 20 people are currently admitted to hospitals per day. I would like to remind you that they are hospitalized in complex cases of the course of the disease. Unfortunately, 18 children are among such severe patients," Valentyna Hinzburh said.

It is indicated that 900 cases of COVID-19 were registered in Kyiv in July, and in June their number was less than 200.

Since the beginning of the year, 52 people have died from this disease in the capital.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in the 2023/2024 epidemic season, 12.5% of Ukrainians fell ill with SARS, flu and coronavirus.
