In August-October, there will be more days without power outages in absence of massive attacks - Ukrenergo

On Tuesday, July 30, for the first time in a month, it was possible to avoid power outages in Ukraine, Ukrenergo predicts that there will be more such days in the next three months, provided there are no enemy attacks on energy facilities.

Ukrenergo has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Today is the first day in July when there are no power outages. Provided there are no mass attacks, there will be more such days during August-October, or there will be short-term restrictions only in the evening hours," the message says.

The company noted that the situation in the energy system has improved due to the completion of two power units at nuclear power plants and a decrease in consumption due to the cold weather.

"The best situation in the Ukrainian energy system is now during the daytime hours - from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This is the time when, in addition to other capacities, solar power plants work efficiently. While the morning and evening hours of the day require more capacities to cover consumption in the country. Therefore, frugal consumption during these hours of the day will allow us to balance the energy system and avoid the introduction of schedules," Ukrenergo said.

The company urged citizens, if possible, to postpone the use of powerful electrical appliances (irons, washing machines, electric kettles, electric stoves, etc.) to the period from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every day, since at these hours the morning peak of consumption is over, and the evening peak has not begun yet.

It is emphasized that the transfer of maximum consumption to daytime hours will reduce the load on the power system, and therefore extend the period without the use of forced shutdowns as much as possible.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the situation in the energy sector has stabilized due to the early completion of repairs at two power units of nuclear power plants and a drop in air temperature.

Ukraine has achieved relative stability in the energy sector. In the coming months, there might be only minor power outages.
