The Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are conducting an offensive in the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation, allegedly occupied the outskirts of Sudzha and approached Korenevo.

This was reported by the Meduza publication with reference to russian Telegram channels.

Thus, according to the Telegram channel, close to the Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country of the russian federation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine "occupied the western half of Sudzha", took control of the roads around the city. There are ongoing shootings in Sudzha, particularly on the eastern outskirts. The publication emphasizes that there is no independent confirmation of this information.

At the same time, the Telegram channel "Sudzha rodnaya" announced on the morning of August 8 that there are no Ukrainian soldiers in the city. However, the publication reminds that the same channel the day before claimed that, according to unconfirmed information, the city is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, a number of russian Telegram channels claim that the Armed Forces of Ukraine approached the village of Korenevo, where they were "stopped with a fight", and that the Armed Forces of Ukraine sent their reserves to Korenevo.

In turn, the authorities of the Kursk Oblast did not comment on the announcement of the advance of Ukrainian troops.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to the russian media, the Armed Forces of Ukraine took control of the Sudzha gas measuring station in the Kursk Oblast, through which gas is transited to Europe via Ukraine.

Also, on August 7, a number of russian propagandists and "military bloggers" stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly took control of 11 settlements in the south of the Kursk Oblast.

In addition, on August 7, analysts of the Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState talked about the first losses of russians in the Kursk Oblast, which they managed to record.

Among the losses of the russians is a Mi-28 attack helicopter, which was shot down by SSU fighters using an FPV drone. This is the first recorded case since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, and probably in history.

Earlier, russian propagandists complained about fighters from the Chechen unit "Akhmat", who left their positions in the border region of the Kursk Oblast after the start of the offensive of the AFU.
