AFU advancing in Kursk Oblast – ISW

Geolocation footage and reports from August 10 and 11, as well as information from russian and Ukrainian sources, indicate that Ukrainian forces have advanced west and northwest in the Kursk Oblast. However, russian sources mostly say that their forces have stabilized the situation.

This follows from a statement by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Russian bloggers claim that Ukrainian activity in the Kursk Oblast has decreased while the front line has remained unchanged. At the same time, other russian sources and Ukrainian military observer Kostiantyn Mashovets noted that the AFU had advanced to Snagost (south of Korenevo).

Geolocated footage published on August 11 shows that Ukrainian forces recently operated southeast of Korenevo.

Additional footage with geolocation, also from August 11, indicates the advance of Ukrainian troops near Kremyany (east of Korenevo).

One russian blogger claims that Ukrainian forces have captured Olhovka (east of Korenevy and west of Kremyany). In contrast, other russian bloggers believe that Ukrainian forces have advanced only in the area of Olhovka and Kremyany.

Geolocation footage published on August 11 shows the advance of Ukrainian troops in southern Cherkasy Porichchi (north of Sudzha). Other footage suggests that the AFU have recently been active west of Mala Lokni (northwest of Sudzha).

Regarding the status of Martynivka (northeast of Sudzha), russian and Ukrainian sources provide conflicting information. Some russian bloggers claim that russian forces repelled Ukrainian attempts to retake the village. At the same time, other sources, including Mashovets, report that Ukrainian forces have recaptured Martynivka.

Russian sources say that Ukrainian forces are present in the west of Sudzha, in particular in Goncharivka and Zaoleshenka, but the central and eastern parts of Sudzha remain "grey zones."

Geolocated footage released on August 10 and 11 shows that Ukrainian forces were recently active near Zaoleshenka, southeast of Goncharivka and southwest of Gogolivka (southwest of Sudzha).

A well-known russian blogger stated that there is unconfirmed information about the presence of Ukrainian forces near Borki and Spalnyi (southeast of Sudzha). Additional geolocation footage published on August 11 shows the actions of Ukrainian troops in the Guevo area (south of Sudzha).

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 11, the Financial Times wrote that the russians were unable to oust the AFU from the Kursk Oblast, despite the arrival of additional russian forces in the region.

On August 9, the deputy of the State Duma of the russian Federation, Andriy Gurulyov, called on russians to prepare for the fact that the russian army will not be able to dislodge the AFU from the Kursk Oblast in a short period of time.

Meanwhile, russian propagandist and military blogger Yuriy Podoliaka claims that the AFU has achieved new successes in the south of the Kursk Oblast of the russian aggressor country. According to him, the Ukrainian military allegedly captured another village.
