From the temporarily occupied Kinburn Spit, the russians are able to attack vessels that can potentially enter the water area of ​​the Dnieper-Bug estuary, and can also fire at Mykolaiv and other cities.

This was stated by the spokesman of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk.

It is also noted that the water area of ​​the Dnieper-Bug estuary will have to be surveyed for the presence of mines.

The spokesman said that the Dnieper River flows into this area from the Kherson Region, and therefore, after the Kakhovka HEPP was blown up by the occupiers, many explosive objects could get there.

"Therefore, yes, this water area is important for us and, unfortunately, as of now, it is being shot through from the Kinburn Spit," he noted.

In addition, Pletenchuk added that the invaders could fire at Mykolaiv and other cities from the Kinburn Spit. However, according to him, the Defense Forces of Ukraine periodically strike back.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the special forces of the Defense Intelligence set the Ukrainian flag between the Dnieper-Bug estuary and the Black Sea during the August 9 raid on the territory temporarily occupied by russia.
