Farmers harvest 31.9 million tons of grain and oil-bearing crops

As of August 16, agricultural enterprises have harvested 28.5 million tons of grain and over 3.4 million tons of oil-bearing crops from an area of 7,946,000 hectares

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

So far, 21.7 million tons of wheat have been threshed on an area of ​​4,846,000 hectares (100% of the planned area), 5.5 million tons of barley have also been harvested from an area of ​​1,397,000 hectares and 458,500 tons of peas from an area of ​​207,600 hectares.

In addition, 3.4 million tons of rapeseed have been threshed on an area of ​​1,228,000 hectares.

The agrarians of the Odesa Region are leading in grain harvesting (1,075,700 hectares have been threshed there), and the Khmelnytskyi Region is the leader in terms of productivity with an indicator of 65.5 tons/ha.

Agrarians of the Dnipropetrovsk Region lead in the harvest of soybeans, agrarians of the Mykolaiv – in the region harvest of sunflowers.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, farmers have started harvesting early crops.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food predicts a decrease in the harvest of grain and leguminous crops by 6.7% to 56 million tons in 2024 compared to 2023.
