Exceedance of chlorine and hydrochloric acid in the air recorded in Ternopil after russian strike

In Ternopil, as of this morning, there is still an excess of the maximum permissible concentration of chlorine and hydrochloric acid in the air after the fire due to the attack of russian troops.

This is reported by the Ternopil Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

As of 10:30 a.m. on August 21, according to the results of the calculations, there is still an excess of the threshold limit value (TLV) of chlorine and hydrochloric acid in the atmospheric air in the territory of the city of Ternopil, the center reported on Facebook.

Namely, according to the center, it was recorded:

t. No. 1- Ternopil, Novyi Svit neighborhood, hydrochloric acid - 0.52 mg/m3 at the norm - 0.2 mg/m3;
t. No. 4 - Ternopil, Biletska Street, chlorine was 0.6 mg/m3 while the norm was 0.1 mg/m3; hydrochloric acid - 0.52 mg/m3 with the norm - 0.2 mg/m3;
t. No. 6 - Ternopil, Obyizdna Street, chlorine was 0.3 mg/m3, while the norm was 0.1 mg/m3; hydrochloric acid - 0.21 mg/m3, while the norm - 0.2 mg/m3.

According to the results of the atmospheric air samples, as indicated, the content of dust, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, phenol was below the sensitivity of the device in accordance with the requirements of the order of the Ministry of Health.

"Follow the recommendations," the center urged.

As indicated, air quality measurements continue to be carried out in the Ternopil district.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of Tuesday, August 20, the russian occupation army attacked Ternopil, and a fire broke out at the enterprise. Thick black smoke covered the city.

A fire occurred as a result of an enemy object hitting one of the tanks where fuel and lubricants were stored. The State Emergency Service noted that during the day "this event will be completely liquidated." In addition, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention monitors air and water quality.

Emergency workers also showed the fire raging as a result of the russian attack on Ternopil.
