Ex-MP Hranovskyi’s suspicion in OPP case cancelled

Investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC), Volodymyr Voronko, has canceled the notice of suspicion announced to the former parliamentarian, Oleksandr Hranovskyi, in the organization of inflicting UAH 93.3 million in damages to the state Odesa Portside Plant (OPP).

Such a decision was made by the judge, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The reasons for this decision are unknown, as only a short part of the decision is currently available.

A prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SACPO) announced that he would file a complaint with the Appeals Chamber of the HACC.

The SACPO categorically disagrees with the decision of the investigative judge of HACC.

The prosecutor believes that the evidence gathered during the pre-trial investigation indicates Hranovskyi’s involvement in the organization of a criminal scheme, the implementation of which during the sale of mineral fertilizers caused losses to JSC Odesa Portside Plant (99.57% owned by the state) in the amount of UAH 93.3 million.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the prosecutor admitted that Interpol had blocked the international search for ex-MP Hranovskyi. The HACC refused to grant permission for an absentee investigation against the former MP Hranovskyi.
